Computer help forum: Broadcom 802. 11n Network Adapter (Error Code 10)

Yes I did do that..using my working computer, and the service tag of my not working computer. Went to the dell website uploaded all of the drivers onto a flash drive. Got on my non working computer, and manually checked all the drives and tried to update them from the flash drive.. every one turning out already up to date.

yet having some (like the Broadcom 802. 11n Network Adapter) not able to run.

In order for the wifi to work, a few other nuggets.

1. Install the motherboard or chipset drivers first.
2. Then the wifi driver.
3. And finally the Dell QuickSet app.

That last item seems to elude folk but on most Dell Laptops you can't enable the WiFi without it.

I won't tell because I'd like to hear why you think that is.

I am truly sorry about this but could you please explain how I would install them in that order?
See, what I have been doing is putting the Windows Vista installation disk in.. and basically just following the on board instructions and letting it run its course. By the the time I get into the computer to get to the device manager. Well.. some driver have already been uploaded from the disk.(With a few non functioning ones, of course) Are you maybe suggesting I go to each driver manually and uninstall them (not a problem if so)..But just act like your talking to a computer guy that knows very basic computer tech. haha I can most probably do what ever it is you ask.. I just need a little clarification on how to do so, is all...Again, sorry for the nuisance and thank you so very much:)

But I can't explain how anyone would install in that order. It's the order I use and why I do that is because this is how I get the machines working.

You've asked me to re-write it as if the person has no computer knowledge which is not going to sound nice at all. Sorry but if you can't install the items and especially the last item and Dell is not helping then you need to take it to those that do the work for you.
