So I am hearing these clicking sounds in my computer and I am 90% certain that it is my hard drive failing.
After a series of clicks, my computer would blue screen.
Whenever I turn my computer on, it would also make these clicks and sometimes, the computer would not recognize any drive and just tell me to restart.
And at times, there are these timeout errors if there are a short amount of clicks and my computer doesn't blue screen.
But my computer would still boot, and it still works alright. It would probably blue screen two times a day, a little more if I am unlucky.
I've already backed up my computer to an external HD.
My question is whether I should still continue to turn on the computer.
Because I know that the HD is going to completely fail at some point, and I am already shopping around for a replacement. But is it a good idea to continue using the computer and just coping with the blue screens?
Would this issue affect the health of the other pieces of hardware?
Thanks for your time.
