Windows 7 Fresh Install Freezing at Starting Windows

Ok, some of you know I have had a problem with vista where it would no longer boot. I have decided to install windows 7 home edition on my gateway gt5408. I have also expanded the ram to 4gb. When I'm doing the install and it goes to "completing installation" the computer restarts and then gets stuck at the next screen which shows "starting windows". I have done some reading and have unplugged and disabled all USB Devices. What can possibly be going on?

Usually, That Indicates A Bad Hard Drive, Or....

...a lack of the correct drivers or BIOS flash needed to make the system function as it should... If the hard drive is headed south, it won't correctly "take" the new system files and therefore, won't startup as it should. Here, we swap in a new hard drive first.
