USB Port Problems!!Help!

I have a HP Pavilion M6-1035DX and my USB ports give power, but do not recognize the device. I have tried uninstalling all the USB "drivers" in Device Manager, but no luck. It still shows two Universal Serial (USB) Controllers no drivers found. I need to figure these out. They worked before I had to reformat. I contacted HP and they told me to uninstall the devices and scan for hardware changes. Still, no luck. Any ideas?

Did you use HP's restore media or did you attempt to install some other than HP issued copy of Windows?

Windows does not find all the drivers and HP may or may not reveal what drivers are needed. Sorry, no. I don't have the exact steps for all laptops. I use a system of motherboard driver first then the other drivers and finally the helper apps that turn on/off devices.
