Help with complete system restore issues.

My system information:
Asus Essentio CM1855
AMD FX-8120 eight-core processor
10GB of RAM
AMD HD7670 graphics card
(I think that's everything you need to know...?)
Essentially I'd like to restore my computer to the day I took it out of the box. It's been working fine, but it came pre-loaded with Windows 8, and after a few days, out of frustration, I decided that I wanted to go back to Windows 7.
I borrowed a copy of the install disk from a friend, which, for some reason or another, didn't work, so I downloaded the IOS from a torrent site and tried to do it myself (bad idea.)
The short of it is that I've gone and messed my computer right up, and I'd like to reset the system to its factory defaults, only I don't have a disk (which all the posts I've seen online say I need.)
Can this be done without the disk? I'm not even sure if the Windows 8 information is still on the computer, because I tried to get rid of it with cleaning programs a couple of times.
I can only hope that one of you computer wizards can give me a hand with this - thank you in advance to all who reply!
