Can't understand this message

On startup, I get this message n
Runtime Error!
Program:C:|Program files x86)CheckPoint\Install|Install.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information. What should I do?

Do you have an application called CheckPoint?

If you have an application called CheckPoint, that's where the problem is. I just checked my Windows 7 laptop, and I have no such application. If you do have it, I'd uninstall and reinstall it. If you don't, I'd boot to Safe Mode and do a full system scan with my antivirus program.

Checkpoint can be related to the Zonealarm firewall/antivirus, but also to data communication software used by businesses. In the last case, your IT staffer should be able to help.

As wpgwpg already said, it's not something that comes with Windows. So it must be a program you downloaded later, or that was installed by your employer. Find out what program, find out where it came from and then find the appropriate help.

Yes, it's Zone alarm related so I've uninstalled ZA and am installing Comodo. Thanks wpgwpg and Kees.
