Help me please!

I'm trying to run and save a program from a CD to my hp laptop. The CD will not autorun like I've personally seen this cd do on other hp laptops. All it shows on the CD is desktop.ini. When clicked it opens to little computer writing in wordpad. Help how do I run and save this program to my laptop!!??

I'd tell you how to change your Autorun settings, but since you neglected to say what version of Windows you're running,... I'm afraid my dog broke my crystal ball. plain

Autorun settings

Click Start -> Control Panel -> Autoplay. The top two settings are the ones to set. My top one is set to play with Windows Media Player, my 2nd one says "choose a default". It's possible that the CD you have was created in a format WMP can't handle. If that's the case, you'll need to download and install something like Real Player, Roxio, or Nero.

Doesn't work

I already have those set and have real player downloaded. I don't know what else to do. Could it be my registry? I think they may be not set right is there a way without rebooting that fix them?

I could only find my autoplay settings and they are set. I've read online they are the same and also not the same.?

a "program" then you get going on "autoplay".

Tell us WHAT the program is and what you expect it to do when it autoplays.

Is it supposed to start the installation of some application or is it supposed to open some specific application that is already installed?
