New PC shuts down after few seconds

I just build a new pc today with all new parts except for my GPU and DVD drive. The problem is that when I turn it on for about 5 seconds it shuts off without warning. I gets to the part where windows prepares the files.

Specs:
Corsair CX750 PSU
gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Motherboard
1TB HDD
AMD FX 8150
Corsair H60 for cooling
XFX Radeon HD 6850

I googled the problem and many say it is the PSU that's the problem but this is a brand new 750W psu that must be able to work without a problem. Any suggestions?

You wrote that "windows prepares the files.

Did you move a Windows OS from one machine to another? That rarely works. We have to install Windows when we change motherboards and such so the right drivers and more are setup.

There could be other issues such as heatsink compound, assembly issues or a bum part but the clue you wrote has me ask.

I recently had a similar problem and my system is close to yours.
It was not the PSU but rather a bad RAM stick. I had installed 16mb of DDR3-1600 and one of the units was bad. I found it only by process of elimination by removing components and restarting.
Unfortunately the RAM was the last to go. This took about 30min to find the problem.
