computer can't access the internet

It might be a simple solution, but my computer can seem to access the internet. My cable modem works (i am typing this on a wireless connect on a tablet) and I have a secondary computer plugged in to the modem as well, and the computer was able to get online. is there something in the start-up in safe mode that I should be looking at? thanks

Safe mode, by default, can not connect to the Internet

In Safe mode, very minimal drivers are loaded. It is only operational enough to allow you to dig yourself out of trouble.

If you need to connect to the Internet use the normal startup, of use the Safe mode that says you can also run with networking.

I have a virus, and I am trying to figure out what files i need to delete in safe mode. only issue is I cannot access the interenet to download a trojan killer

You can download an anti-virus program on another computer, put it on a USB drive, take out to your possibly infected computer. Or, you could buy an anti-virus on disk at some store.

Or, even not start up in Safe Mode, allow your computer to access the Internet, and get, buy, or use an online anti-virus program.

What makes you think you are infected?
