Hi, everyone. This is my first post.

I bought a new HP comp with Win 8 OS and I am not impressed with 8 that much(the machine is amazingly fast tho). I have some older games & programs that my wife, our grandkids and I like to use but they are not compatible with the new OS.

So I have an old comp with XP on it and I am thinking about using both comps. My question is about hooking up my wireless keyboard and mouse to both. I would only run one machine at a time. If I use a USB hub to split the wireless receiver to both comps, I can't hurt the comps as long as only one comp is on, can I? Is there a better way to do this? Or am I completely out of my mind for wanting to do this?

Why not have a mouse and keyboard for each computer?

USB Hubs don't do that.

So while it should not fry anything it won't work. You could try a USB switch but that has some issues but should work.
