Laptop Computer Selection HELP!

Hey guys, I'd like to introduce myself as Mike! I'm new to the forums and have a question for some of you computer guru's. I'm working on selecting a new laptop. I will use the laptop solely for working online. I will not be downloading any junk to the computer, but I do want something with fast processor, decent memory and graphics, and a good battery.


Here are my three options that fit my price range. I need help deciding between the following laptops; Samsung, Dell, and HP. Here are the models I'm interested in if someone could please help me select which would be most reliable, fast, and fit my needs the best. Thanks again!

Your marrying a slow processor with a slow HD (5400) . The 4gb ram is good though. I really do not know how well Windows 8 would perform with that slow a processor.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Celeron-B820-Notebook-Processor.79673.0.html tells a lot more but at least it's a dual core and we can upgrade the HDD if we wanted but it's not a model I'd want unless it was for our demo pool.

I have a machine in the office too similar to the HP one. It's pretty slow and I'd skip that one for the i3 based unit.

Why did our office get it? It's for a product demo and we use these cheaps since it shows off our apps are fine on them.

Samsung or...

With Windows 8 , I prefer at least 4gb DDR3. So I would choose the Samsung.

I have bought these with good results: More HD, with windows 7 4gb is nice and fast.

You said Mike, the laptop will be solely for working online.
Now , if your connecting via wireless, all the laptops are the same N functionality.
But , if your enjoying a good corporate ethernet connection. The Samsung is listed as 10/100/1000.
The others are 10/100 .
May not be a factor, with your connection ... just pointing out the difference.

I did a Windows Transfer from one to another machine over that 1000 ethernet and it was significantly faster.
