when i start my pc the current supply in my house goes off..

when i press the button of my UPS the lights in my house start flickering and finally the current supply in the house goes off.then if i switch the ups off immediately, the supply comes back...
also, i have to set the date and time daily on my pc...
again at the time of start the cpu makes grinding noise...
why is this happening??plzzzz help...

Have AC side checked

You got "electrical issues" you need to sort them out. Call a pro or at least check the AC wall outlet. Further, just what else is on the AC circuit? Again, this all needs to be sorted out. If in fact the UPS is somehow at fault(defective) then remove it. If you got a bunch of items attached to that AC outlet, the draw is too much. Again, it maybe acting-up but be the cause of a far more serious problem. You may have "aluminum" wiring, loose wiring, bad Ac outlet or even a bad circuit bkr., non-contact screws(loose) or past lightening damage all this can come from the AC side of things. Your PC is telling you by its action all is not well and will do so until it fails entirely. If this setup worked before then what has changed?

you might probably have some wiring problems either in your house circuits or with the UPS.

Is this an older UPS and did you possibly recently replace the batteries? It is possible to connect the batteries improperly to feed back and even to exceed the normal 12 volts by connecting them in series if careless or unsure what you are doing.

Have both checked by an electrician before you REALLY HAVE PROBLEMS!
