Graphics Card Frequency and Tearing

Hello.

I recently purchased a Gateway LT4010. I'm experiencing a phenomenon known as "tearing" while streaming videos.

The graphics card is the Intel GMA 3600, 4 core 400 Mhz

The Acer version of this netbook comes with an Intel GMA 3650, 4 core 640 Mhz.

The systems are the same price. I am wondering if I exchange the Gateway for the Acer, would the higher frequency resolve the tearing?

It usually results in some other effect. I'd try turning off FLASH HARDWARE ACCELERATION first since that's a common workaround to such issues.

Let me know if you can't find the instruction on that.

I have a 4004 and can test the video there if you like. Supply a link for me and I can try it at the office on a few netbooks. We use these as test beds to see if our software can run on outdated gear.
