Can I use a switcher box between two PC towers

I guess I'd need to have a DUAL screen connector and keyboard and internet and mouse connectors too.....???
Is there an easy way to use an (#1) old computer with XP on it and a (#2) new computer with WIN7 on it other than setting up two workstations?

Seems such a waste to throw away the technology and the info/programmes on an old computer especially since you really can't move them to WIN7 computer cuz most aren't compatible!!
Any ideas?? THANK YOU and HAPPY NEW YEAR

The switcher box is called a KVM box

Switchers are quite diverse so the simple answer is yes. Sometimes you find folk that need more than this.

However here I am a decade later and I have ONE application that didn't move to Windows 7. I really doubt you use that app. Can you reveal what didn't run on 7?

Switcher question and two towers

I used to have a switcher for two different printers running from one computer. It worked really well.

I guess the question should be, would it be stupid to try to run two towers (one at a time of course!). Could I get dual connectors to have each tower connect to one screen, one keyboard, one mouse etc.,? Then if I wanted to use a programme on Comp.1 I could switch to Comp.1 and then turn it off, and switch to Comp.2 to use those programmes.
Seems kinda cumbersome, I guess....

To answer your second question Photoshop 7 doesn't run on Win 7. (At least I couldn't install it). Neither does Publisher '98 or 2000, I don't think. I ended up buying upgrades to both programmes for the new tower.

I really haven't "moved" much to my new computer other than a few programmes that it accepted. Not hugely impressed with the lack of ease with PCs......not that I'm voicing anything new over the last few decades! Guaranteed obsolescence and so on!

About Photoshop 7.

I asked google how to install Photoshop 7 on Windows 7 64 bit and this is the first hit.

I find that it's true many things that old don't work but if I research such I sometimes find a way.

Two towers

I am running two tower using an iogear kvm switch
It run the monitor,keyboard and mouse.

Double click of the scroll lock on the keyboard switch the monitor,keyboard,mouse the towers both remain running and you can switch back and forth

Have used this switch for a couple of years without any problems

I'd say look up iogear and select the switch to match your connections
