I want to build a computer

Hello my name is bruce and I was wondering if someone could help me build a computer? I want it to be able to run video editing and picture editing such as photoshop and I also want it to run top of the line games, does someone think they can help ?

Don't build it if this is your first. Start easy with a medium top of the line. NEVER create a new combination of parts. STEAL and COPY what you see at tomshardware.com and such sites.

Well it's not my first computer but I haven't had a computer in awhile and I want a new one and my friends tell me it would be better just to build it. So what exactly do you mean by never create a combination of parts ?

Go to http://www.tomshardware.com and look at some of the configurations that have been successfully tested and shown to work. If you make up your own list of parts, you could end up with something that doesn't work very well. There've been so many posts here and in other forums from folks who haven't heeded this advice and have had no end of problems, so heed the word to the wise.
Personally I think you're better off buying a computer from a company like Dell. Their hardware is very reliable and you can configure it yourself at their web site. You'll have a warranty and you'll save money too because it's cheaper that way.
