Hello everyone,
I hope this is the right section... So I have a stationery Compaq Presario, it's a relatively old computer now, maybe 5, 6 years. It hasn't been perfoming greatly in the last year, so I fear that what's happening is just the last gasp of an old computer...
Anyway, the computer just completely freezes and crashes at start up. Just before the desktop loads, a white screen appears and the whole thing freezes. The computer starts making this continous, beeping noise. The little lamp on the computer which indicated that the computer's working/doing something isn't flashing either (like it always was during a start up), so basically the whole thing crashes.
I tried restarting, many times - no success. I also attempted a system restore. I managed to get the system restore to come up, but it freezes and crashes as it's attempting repairs, and the beeping noise returns too.
Is there anything I can do to get this working again? I greatly appreciate your help...
