Could really use some help with resolving this issue. I have been unable to access Facebook from my desktop since Wednesday. I have read a number of online discussions and have tried multiple fixes, but to no avail. Every time I attempt to access the Facebook page I receive the following error message:
The connection has timed out
The server at www.facebook.com is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I am able to load all other pages with no issues whatsoever. I have a wireless network in my home and am able to access the site without issue on the 2 other desktops. I have tried multiple browsers - Firefox and Explore and neither work. I have cleared my Cache, reset my network adapter, disabled pop-up blocker, and none of these resolved the issue. I am not blocked by a firewall and am not logged in from another computer. I am able to connect via my mobile without issue. When I ran a command prompt it pinged Facebook 4 times and failed to connect. I have checked the proxy settings Re: the instructions I ascertained from various discussion boards and am still at a loss. I have also checked my dns setting to make sure that this site is not looping back to my own desktop. I am not a techie and this is the extent of my knowledge base and diagnostic capabilities. I am at a complete loss as to why/how I am locked out of this site on this computer and would greatly appreciate any help you may be able to provide. Confused in Canada!!!
