Yes he gave me a broken PC and told me that its some Motherboard problem. I just put this query in here so that i may come to know whether i can fix the PC myself.

then the first thing to do is to try another motherboard, isn't it? Motherboards aren't repaired, generally, unless it's just a bad caps issue and you're good in soldering new caps yourself.

Currently I am using a very outdated configuration PC which has a PATA hard disk and running with P4 processor. Is it possible for me to run the PC with the configuration built in my friends CPU??

Re: running PC with configuration from your friends PC

You might be able to transfer certain components, such as the optical disk (CD, DVD), the sound card and the video card if they are better than yours. But just as well it's possible his sound and video are integrated on that broken motherboard. Or you have no slot for that particular video card.

You have to start somewhere, first things first, yank the PSU and get it tested, typically a techie shop. It might be something that simple.

My CPU is working now but the monitor does not show anything, the thing happening now is the indication green light of the monitor keeps on flashing. So i really cant figure it out that what will be the content shown on the screen.

green light indicates ? No make or model for the monitor has been provided and there is no indication whether you used the analog or digital connection between the system and the monitor.

What did you do to get the CPU work ?
