I make copies using an HP scanjet 3790 and have have problems with it picking up the grey of an off-white background. Standard xerographic copiers don't seem to do this and if they do, i can turn down the resoution.This setup, however, seems to ignore any such adjustment.
HP director doesn't help much.
With my old HP LaserJet 4m+, I was able to tune it down with iCarbon on RGB setting. I recently updated to a LaserJet Pro 400 color, obviously adversely affecting use of any color setting.
Does anyone have any ideas for a way to just lift the black or dark print off of the page?
(Win XP Pro SP3, Dell XPS 720)

But I am able to run it through my photo editor to improve the printout. I've never seen these all in ones do as well as dedicated copiers. They do some things well for the dollar but you're right.

and remember, I could do it with a straight B/W printer with the scanner on RGB (color), so I KNOW there is a way..
It sort of goes to "not all improvements are improvements"
