DNS Changer Virus

My cable internet provider sent an email telling me I have
the DNS Changer virus on my system. Well I got into the C: prompt, typed: ipconfig /all

They were right, as two of the DNS servers were on
their list of rogue DNS. They offered two programs
which I downloaded and ran, but neither one found
or fixed this virus.

What's a good next step? Thank you!

Also, with all the open discussions on this one, be sure to tell more why the usual cures didn't work.

In parting, why not set the DNS to Google DNS?

Went there ... no help

I have been through all the screens on http://www.dcwg.org/
Nothing seemed to clean up the rogue DNS. I did the ipconfig /all
and the rogue DNS is still shown!

What have I missed? Do I need to reset my router and start over
or do I need to reload my operating system and start from scratch?

I keep getting nasty grams from my COX cable provider about
my existing DNS Changer virus....

I can't tell if you scanned with what (I'll supply a link from Grif) and can't tell if you changed your DNS manually.
