I'm hoping someone can help me with this pronto. My son is in school for 3D animation. His graphics card went out today and he needs to get it replaced ASAP so he doesn't fall behind in his homework.
I know he has a powerful, fast computer that he bought a few years ago with the thought of 3D in mind. Now, since mom & dad have to pay for the new graphics card, I want to make sure we get one that is reliable, with 2gb memory and good for use with programs like MAYA. The one he picked out, however, is $350!!! It's an NVIDIA geforce GTX660.
Do we really need to spend that much? He's leery of other brands but said he could use EVGA or ATI.
HELP!!!
