Please tell more, like what you mean with "windows boot manager screen". After all, it's not Windows that boots, it's the BIOS that boots.

So Windows fails to start. What exactly does it tell you, what do you do and what happens?

and the 1st thing that happens is a grey and blue screen appears and at the top of the screen it says Pheonix- Awards BIOS CMOS Set Up Utility and in blue letters right below it has Main Advanced Power Boot Exit below that is system date,time, language ,floppy ,disk A, 1st Drive thru 6th Drive the arrows on the key pad lets you scroll up or down at the bottom it says F1 help F5 setup defaults F10 save and exit Esc. Exit without saving. So I hit F10 then alittle box appears and it says Save Configuration changes and exit now YES or NO so i choose yes by pushing enter about 30 seconds of black screen and then the screen i was talking about comes up. Windows Boot Manager below that it says Windows failed to start A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1 Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2Choose your languagesettings,and then click next. 3 Click repair your computer. If you do not have the Disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. then it has File \Boot\BCD Status 0xc000000f Info an error occured while attempting to read the Boot configuration data. And at the bottom of that screen it has ENTER= Continue ESC= Exit doesnt matter if i push ENTER or ESC it all ends up right back here.

That's typical for many corrupted OS issues. The cure is not what anyone likes but you use tools like I'll supply in a few links to follow FIRST then you restore the machine to its factory condition and then restore your files and apps.

Because OEM makers don't provide all the tools we have at our disposal with the full retail version of Windows. I see some makers will set aside half the disk space so they can restore the OS then (almost works?) restore the user's apps and files. I've seen it work and fail so this is not a sure thing.
