I can't view any videos on my laptop.

I run Windows 7, ISP is Wild Blue Satellite (5mbps), Linksys E900 router (bought a new one), Foxfire browser (I also tried with Chrome and IE with no luck). Adobe Flash is updated. All I get in a black rectangular box with no status bar, no twirly thingy to indicate loading. Sometimes I get "There Has Been An Error, please try again later." I CAN watch vids on my iPad!!! Brought laptop into a technician in town and he was able to view vids with his internet connection. I'm out of things to try. Can anyone out there help me?
