Computer help forum: babylon harassment

a lot of programs from Cnet and never got a toolbar or virus of any sort, maybe people need to pay closer attention to what is Checked and UNcheck it before download begins. Also Cnet provides a direct link for the programs so maybe use them.......just a thought......Digger

Another user said that "it is a pain to remove it" and you asked "do you mean that the Uninstall process did not work for you? What was left behind for you after you uninstalled it?"

Well, it was a pain to remove because (1) the uninstall of the babylon.exe didn't resolve, but lingered on the screen until I logged off to see if it was gone, and (2) the babylon toolbar remained in my programs file. When I tired to uninstall it, the icon kept duplicating until, again, I logged off to stop it. I had to return both my browsers to default and start over in order to get rid of babylon. It infuriates me that this program self-installed and then took up at least 6 hours of my time to remedy the problem.

There should be some retribution for companies that do this kind of damage. I am a translator, so I guess that's why I was targeted. But believe me, if I ever see babylon mentioned on any of the listserves I belong to, I will let people know what it really is: malware.
