Boxes/squares instead of regular text?

I'm not using a foreign language or special characters, just regular text is showing up as boxes. It's only on certain things though, Google Chrome and random things on my computer, like the control panel. I'm using a netbook with Windows 7 Starter, if that's important. I just got it on Friday and the boxes showed up this morning when I first turned it on. I've done everything I could think of to try and fix it. Everything I google ends up being for people who are using foreign characters. I've restarted my computer and mess with the font settings but I can't figure it out. Here are a few screenshots to show you what I'm dealing with.

Seems like one of your Windows fonts is missing or corrupted.

Try sfc /scannow from the command prompt.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm tells how.

Thanks for the help but when I turned it on this morning everything was back to normal, so idk what happened but I guess it fixed itself ?
