Computer help forum: Graphic Card Swap, Need help checking if compatible

The Model is a HP Pavilion a6752f Made in 2008

Basically what i wanted to know is, if because of the Dimension of 9.6 x 6.9 x 16.3 inches of the case
Can I run a 550ti card on that require min 400w on this power supply , Even if it's 350w

And the 550ti Seems larger, So what am i looking for ? Low profile cards ?

You own this so you can check if the slot is in a spot that the regular card will fit. It does not look like you need a low profile card.

And I didn't find the 550 on the list. So why not get a fast card and not swap the PSU?

It is really Tempting, I'm just making sure to get a Cheap PSU that would fit with it. Do you know if The Cooler Master is Good enough for the 7750 ?(ill change the computer in a Year, its just to play Battlefield3 meanwhile)

Alright, Basically you convinced me. I checked the benchmarks and stuff, That seems way enough for me. For the PSU are you sure I will be able to plug and Play ? This is the last thing i need to figure out Before Buying the actual card, It must work without Doing a general shutdown. otherwise any PSU I can be safe with ? i'd better not take any chance

Im Seeing the card is a PCI Express x16 3.0, Yet My motherboad have pci 1 ? Does it matter really ?

After all this it appears you want to replace the PSU. Why not?

As to the other cards, use google and see if anyone has benchmarks. I have to say that doing the research is what you need to do next. I think I tried to help you avoid the PSU upgrade and get a spiffy easy to install card. I like it so much I may opt for my old desktop in another month.

Yeah, that's what i've been doing for the last couple hours, And I must I'm rather impressed by the results of this card overall. And Since I don't have a Fully 1080 screen (1440x900), this card will be perfect for me.

Wich version of this card do you own ?

My Last and Final Question would be HD7750 or HD7770 ? it seems to use a big more power though. But overall in the Benchmark it seems a bit Higher in the 7770, It seemed pretty Decent

And which card? I don't own it yet but this discussion did have me earmark the 7770 because of all the reasons we found in the full article.
