As Bob recommended, I would FIRST follow Grif's set of instructions to see if it helps.

IF for some reason it doesn't and IF the (fake) alert from the FBI requests you use MoneyPak to pay the fine, I would then suggest following the steps in the below removal guide:

Remove the FBI MoneyPak Ransomware or the Reveton Trojan

In order to make use of the Emergency Kit, you will need to be able to boot into Safe mode. " Safe Mode with Networking" to be more specific. Hopefully, you will be able to. Instructions are within the guide. Follow them "to the letter".

As noted above, follow Grif's set of instructions first.

What I know for sure. Be EXTREMELY cautious of sites that claim to have a tool dedicated to remove this specific ransomware . Especially those which carry a fee. It's times like these where having a (free) safe browsing tool, such as Web of Trust (WOT), would serve you well.

The real problem here is just getting my computer to boot up. Ive had this ransomware once before, and I thought I got rid of it. Im not dumb enough to actually pay them (and yes, they did ask for MoneyPak). I just need my computer to boot or even give me an option to boot in safe mode, but I get nothing.

So you can't get to safe mode, tapping f-8 key on start up? That seems really odd because generally that is where you'd want to start when trying to deal with these types of malware bugs. And you tested your HDD in another system? How was that done and what was the result?

I think ive tried everything...

I just tried using my windows dvd. I went into the bios and changed the boot priority to the CD drive, loaded he CD in and restarted my computer. It brought me to the windows installation screen, and I eventually got to the repair windows screen. I chose to check the HDD for problems, and it found none. So I did system restore, restored it from an earlier date and restarted, and im still having the same problem.

I took out my hard drive and plugged it into my brothers computer and all my files and everything were still there.

F8 does nothing on startup. The only thing that does is F2 which opens the bios.
