Flash player, if they are Flash movies, and that your incoming internet service is not slowing down.

Comparing your home service with your office service is pointless, unless you take you mac into work and the same problem occurs there. Is that possible?

If the movies are HTML5, make sure you have the latest OS updates from Apple. Sometimes HTML does not come together nicely. It's not a platform thing, its more of a bandwidth problem.

I'm seeing too many reports like this across PCs, HDTVs and of course Apples.

Adobe (they write this thing) is apparently changing the player's code as they strive to fix security issues and it appears they are breaking playback on many machines.

-> My thought on this. When they figure out the problem you see updates roll out and the Apple version is later as Apple has their own gauntlet of tests and then Apple sends it out.

My second thought on this is that maybe they should have made just a player and not something that could run scripts.

I am not comparing my home internet speed to my work one. Just happened to mention that at the office the windows pcs play the video just fine. I have the latest flash update and the issue still happens. I do not think it is a speed issue regarding my internet connection, I get close to 20 mbps downloads. What intrigues me the most is the fact that I have NO issues in other video websites or event the international Cnet websites.

Again all I can write is Adobe appears to have its hands full with Apple, Windows, HDTVs and more.

At some point things do break and they take longer to get to fixing it.

Just checking in to say that I googled this problem and found this thread. Both of my Macs suffer the same stutter during playback, and they are running different versions of OSX. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Flash on both to no avail. I only have this problem on CNET videos, every other video on the internet runs flawlessly.

It supports HTML5 and has flash built-in so you can uninstall Flash, install and test with just Chrome.

Another Note About CNET Videos... They Use Adverts....

...and as such, if you happen to be using a HOSTS file or an ad-blocking program, it will frequently cause the CNET videos to fail, or at the very least, jump and skip. If you have such an ad-blocker, try disabling it and see if it fixes the issues.. If so, you can then make a decision on how to resolve the issue long-term.
