Yesterday i got the "s.m.a.r.t hdd" virus and after spending hours following guides trying to fix it i ended up reverting my laptop to a previous restore point. Well that did the trick, all the hdd virus nonsense is gone..BUT ive noticed the laptop is a bit slower now, whenever i go to google and search for something it takes up to 13 seconds for the results to show up (this also happens with pretty much every website) where as before the virus happened the results would show up as soon as you clicked "search".
Ive scan my computer with the "avg" anti virus and everything seems to be fine
is there a way to fix this?
could the virus still be on my laptop?
i dont know if it matters but the laptop is a compac cq56 running windows 7.
