Manage updates with the Download App
While watching a downloaded video on the the TV thru HDMI from the computer it go to a static sound. I then have to reboot. It is a Dell Studio 1737. This doesn't happen on playback on the computer. I can test the HDMI configuration and it will work for about ten seconds and then go out again. This happens on any TV. Any solutions? thank you

Seems like a driver issue. With me, the HDMI port is controlled by the Intel graphic driver. If it's the same with you, I'd try to update that.

I'd like to check out its encoding. Some players will indeed crash under the conditions you write about. And since that's true, we know to check the encoding and search if others have found this to crash WMP under that encoding, CODEC and more.

Again, some players never get fixed. It's why I have a few to choose from such as VLC Player.

That is what I'm going to try. I also downloaded a CODEC pack. Haven't tried it since, so I will see. Thanks for your help Bob

I downloaded the play, but have yet to try it with the HDMI. I did play a show with both RP and WMP and had the same problem. I'll give this a shot. Thanks Bob
