For a couple of weeks win 7 showed error sign, "could not diskcheck. autoch? or something is missing."
Is there any way to recover, except restore or reinstall? Restore did not work.

use your anti-virus pgm and do a scan as soon as possible after its been updated. Once that's done and results show good, then proceed to check that error message, repeat the boot if necessary or whenever it pops-up. Note it down, then google for what it may be. Another way to return your PC back to a working state is to use the "repair mode" of the boot menu of your recovery/restore disc. You select it from the menu, don't do an actual recovery but a repair. It will take some time so this is a laptop, please provide by the AC adapater.
Provide full details of your PC helps more than hinders in replies.

Last week, another cracked Windows 7 Ultimate and no check disk among other things missing. Go figure why they thought that was going to work for long.

is there anything like 'automatic windows periodic utility-antimalware, self-cleaning. and so on' so that every owner of windows do not have to worry after the initial installment? same thing like apples computers.

Windows is more open source than Apple and so 3rd party software and apps can be added and installed as we wish. These can make changes to the system.
I think we need to know the full error message please.

You can set Windows update to automatic. And all antivirusprograms automatically update their virus-database.
Some applications also do it. For example, Oracles Java (although you can turn that off) and Adobe's Flash and Reader, Firefox and Chrome browsers. Zonealarm firewall does it. All Google apps do. iTunes does it.
Some of those do it fully automatically, others ask permission. But must applications don't.
That's enough for you not worry? Or would you like to see more?

Was from a torrent and didn't update. I can guess it did that to avoid activation or detection. It was also "stripped" of things that you would see in a normal Windows 7.
We couldn't help them as there was not Windows 7 DVD they could supply to replace the torrent version.
