How can i get my windows start up password if i forgot it?

Hello everyone,
I forgot my password for a brand new LENOVO laptop.
I forgot the first logon password i used for windows OS and i am stuck and cannot move on. Anyone who can advise me on way forward?

That's not very smart. That's why we advice to have at least TWO accounts with administrator rights on a PC. The chance that you forget two is smaller than the chance you forget one.

Possible solutions:
1. Go back to factory conditions via the system recovery options offered by Lenovo.
2. Download and run ntpasswd from http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/ to reset the password

Hint for the next time: write it down somewhere! Or make a password recovery disk (that's an option in Windows 7).
