Computer help forum: Still A Problem

I think the problem happened when they shipped the computer back to me.
I'll mail it back to fix this problem then something will go wrong

And you are going to fix it yourself or have it fixed at a shop?

I'm waiting for the HP Tech to call me back so I can explain the problem.
When I go to install a program off a disc one of two things happens.
1. The program installs without a problem.
2. The program stops in the middle of installing.
When 2. happens my computer no longer recognizes the rom drive
and I have to reboot the computer to get it to come back.
Even If I do get a program to install sometimes it says the program
may not have installed correctly.
This is with programs that are for Windows 7 like Print Artist.

I've seen that issue on all makes. The clues are not here to diagnose or give any direction but it is a big problem as folk have discovered. Support at this point gets expensive for those that just want stuff to work.

For example I'm encountering more install issues as the antivirus suites improve their protection. I'm not writing that's it but it's one of the issues.

The other common issue are registry cleaners and malware. Both seem to damage Windows in new and odd ways.

And finally we have folk trying to install versions that were not supported by their maker on Windows 7. I'm unsure how to broach that subject as some folk explode over that one.

The manager at Office Depot said that I could replace my tower with the HP P7-1225 or I could get the
Lenovo H420 (7752-5WU) instead.
Office Depot said that the HP was the better of the 2 computers but I really don;t know anything about Lenovo.
Can someone tell me which is the better computer????

HP failed me last year on in warranty repair ending with a dead machine and HP walking out on the warranty. I'm unsure how HP is able to garnet sales as the stories go around about this but just for that, nod to the Lenovo.

HOWEVER the issue you seem to have is the common software issue. No maker seems to be doing well in this regard. Maybe Apple does a bit better but they have more control over what's in the App Store.
