I know the terms and the how to find what I want, the problem I have is that it no longer comes up on lists at all !! I do believe that " the new system." has removed anything that " They " do not make money on !!

Somewhere around October 2004 (could have been 2003) CNET switched from old forums to new forums. They simply took the power of the old servers and all information on it (6 years of helpful posts) was gone.

Something like that is what you mean? You shouldn't blame a search engine for that, but the person or organisation that owns the archive and decided to put it offline. So let me repeat my questions above:
- What search engine (Bing, Google, others)?
- What search terms?
- What link do you expect to see?
- What kind of 'bias' on the search engine would be responsible for its suppression?

I think that most of the time I used GOOGLE. ...I do know the " search way " , as I have been using the internet for a long time now. Old fashioned I guess. I don't like the new " pay for everything program " that THEY have switched to. I know that is the way to do busyness, I just have become spoiled on the free information that WAS available.

I found books from the 1800's in the special section and many from the 1950's to present day.

When researching you get to cut through all this. It's part of the fun of research. Who knows if you may uncover that a solution was found years ago.

EXAMPLE? Last year I had someone announce they had a new way to solve a certain geometric question. I questioned if it was new and found the same solution in my 1907 (year) copy of EUCLID (geometry.)

I love keeping those old textbooks around to dig into when someone makes a claim like that.

A free service will have to find ways to gain revenue. So any free search will be tainted.

Looks like you have to pay for the results or get better at searching.
