Laptop is frozen ON

hp ProBook 4530s Windows 7 is locked up with error message. Won't turn off by Cntrl/Alt/Del or power button. I was moving my music files via Lexar flash drive from my desktop to my laptop. Driver Device was loading after flash drive was recognized. Blue Screen with this message came up- "Problem detected and windows shutdown to prevent damage. Restart computer, or uninstall anti-virus, disk defraf or backup utilities, check hard drive config, and check for updated drivers. Collecting data for crash dump/Dumping physical memory to disk:100% (no disc in drive!)
Technical info STOP: 0x00000023, etc. PARTMGR.SYS - Address FFFFF88000F67079 base at .....

For Real!? Afraid my laptop will burn up since it won't stop running; fan, too. Can it be stopped?

Press and hold the button button and most will turn off in 4 seconds. A rare machine took 10 seconds.

I did get power off . Rebooted in safe mode then restored to earlier today. Won't be using that Flash Drive again.
