Yahoo Messanger virus(/)

Every time I get into Yahoo mail I receive a message from Yahoo Messenger from an unknown contact. I do not open it, just 'X' out. Why is this occurring and more important how do I stop it from always showing up.

Sounds like IM spam

What your describing sounds more like Instance Messaging spam then a virus. Yahoo should have a way of reporting it. Have you look at their help or frequently ask questions page?
