Manage updates with the Download App
I have a Dell XPS desktop running Vista. I have used Belarc Advisor for many years without any problem. But recently I can not open it. it will only run update. I uninstalled it and download it again. It still does not work. I use Kaspersky Pure. Belarc is in the trusted zone. The only thing I can think of is that I used System Mechanic for the past 4 months. But I deleted it 2 weeks ago. I really like Belarc. How can I make it work again?

This app is going to trip up over many things as it makes queries about the system.

http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/siw_portable might be worth a try as it has a zero install version.
can not open Belarc Advisor

This is my home computer. I am the only one using it. I guess when I was using the System Mechanic, it might change the registry. Some files my computer needs to open Belarc are either missing or corrupted. I don't know how to fix it.

I just uninstalled the Belarc and downloaded it again via Firefox (I was using Chrome before). Here is the error message I got " Belarc Advisor: Error updating history log C:\Program Files (x86)\Belarc\Advisor\System\Security\\BelNotify\History.log contains an invalid path." I have no idea how to fix this problem. Please help. Thanks

Have you ever used Explorer to look around?
