BABYLON virus

Try to download Antimalwarebytes onto your new pc! or not,,The "Trusted Downloader" they recommend, I forget what it is - whatever. it's May 5, 2012, You will get a horrendous Babylon virus, it took me hours to (hopefully) get rid of it . Babylon , which is supposed to be a language translator site service, got into my e-mail account, my pictures, and dammit, I just bought this computer, Pentium 4 and all. I dont know what damage babylon virus has done to it. Just go to e-how, and other similar sites. and see how many have gotten this problem from good old CNET. I used to trust cnet , but BEWARE. Babylon. It wiped out google and bing as search engines, overcame an anti-porno program called dns FamilyShield, and my family -wife- is cheesed off (!!!) that I've been working to get rid of this for 5 hours. Bet this won't get posted......hfg

You Tube Video removed

Will Babylon (which we understand to be a public listed company) come clean with a proper removal tool to undo the damage done?

I used Grif's advice at link and it was gone. Well ALMOST. I had to do one more step and that was to change the web browser's home page to something else.

Remove it maually

Step1: Please go to the Start Menu. Select Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, select Control Panel - Uninstall a Program.

Step2: Search for Babylon.exe in the list. Select the program and click Remove button.

Step3, Open Google Chrome, Click on Customize and control Google Chrome icon and select Settings
Choose Basic Options. Change Google Chrome homepage to google.com or any other and click the Manage search engines... button,

Select Google from the list and make it your default search engine;
Select Search Results from the list remove it by clicking the "X" to delete the babylon toolbar

'Uninstall' not helpful for removing Babylon

The Babylon search / browswer function cleverly does not appear in the list of applications under Control Panel / uninstall.

never needed to remove the toolbar. it was all the other stuff that got into my computer, remnants of which still appear occasionally, in spite of professional assistance in attempting to get rid of BABYLON. I see that i am only one of many w/ this problem..... hf

I have never needed to remove the Toolbar. All the other problems which occurred when I dowloaded Malwarebytes using ARO...... Big problem that is now almost fixed.
