Are you sure that XP drivers even exist? This is generally the sort of thing you should be doing BEFORE changing the OS on a computer: tracking down all the necessary drivers.If the Gateway website doesn't have any drivers, you can try the website for the chip manufacturer, but that's no guarantee either. There's a decent chance that no such drivers exist for XP, so you are stuck either buying a PCI card where you know you can get XP drivers, living without an Internet connection, or going back to Vista where you know the drivers exist.
Then make sure to remember this the next time it seems like a really good idea to load a different OS yourself: FIND DRIVERS FIRST!
