Building my own computer

I am (kind of) building my own computer, but I really know next to nothing about computer parts, what is good and what is not. I just kind of judge from the prices. However I found a website that will let you customize your own computer, but they will assemble it and ship it off to you (for a price, of course). mwave.com.au is the website. I am on a pretty strict budget, but I am hoping to get at least a moderately good gaming computer (I'm not after anything mind blowing). By budget is only in the 500 dollar range, anyway I found all the the list below on mwave for 630 bucks, which I am pretty sure I can afford but I was hoping that I might get some advice on whether or not this stuff will work together, or if there is something better I can get for cheaper or anything.

Well, the place shouldn't sell you something if it won't work, so the good bit is you shouldn't need to worry about that.

One thing I will say is that with 4GB of RAM you'll want the 64-bit version of Windows 7, or you'll be effectively wasting about 0.5GB of that 4GB.

Also, a 500W PSU seems like it might be pushed pretty close to its limit by the hardware you have.

Finally, unless you absolutely need wireless, it's a pretty standard feature for motherboards to have an ethernet jack, so while it might not be a huge savings, if you're already a bit over budget, any little reduction would help. Dump the wireless if there is any possibility you can just run an ethernet cable to your computer. Wired networking is better for gaming anyway.

I wouldn't expect that system to be able to do much with some of the latest and greatest games. It might be able to handle them on fairly low detail settings, but generally the better option is to find a couple of games you want to be able to play, check the minimum and recommended specs, and then try and build a system as close to the highest set of recommended specs as you can manage with your budget.

Thanks a bunch for your reply, I appreciate the advice a lot. I will see if I can squeeze out a better PSU, which I might be able to do with the dropped price from the wireless.

And yeah, I know it probably won't be able to do a ton with the latest and greatest games. Not really what I'm entirely after, just right now I'm running all of my games off of a laptop with an inbuilt GMA X3100, which sucks since I can't even play half of the stuff I want to on the lowest graphics (Portal 2, DotA 2 are the two that come to mind immediately but I am assuming that games coming out soon like D3 and the later patches of SC2 will be too hard on me as well).
