Hello left clicker on pad won't work missing Rundll32!

Hi all, I have windows vista Home premium 32 bit. I am using an Hp laptop. My left clicker on my pad will not work so I went to control pannel to look at my mouse set up and it is said I could not get in because my Rundll32 is missing.

Please I could use you help in getting this fixed.

That's what sfc -scannow is invented for.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm tells how it works.

But I doubt if it's related to the mouse setup. The trackpad isn't a mouse. It's different hardware, and it might have its own settings (I can't check because I don't have a laptop here and certainly not a HP laptop). But I remember that on my XP netbook there's a trackpad icon in the system notification area (the right part of the taskbar).

And it could very well be that it's a hardware issue, and your laptop needs to be repaired. But first fix that rundll32 issue. The link says it's "easy".

Okay I ran it and it said no integrity problems. When I went back to hit the mouse thing again it said the host rundll32 cannot be found. So not sure what up.

Also I did check with HP website and the touch pad adjustments is in the pointer file in Control panel. which is the one I cannot open. So there is a problem going on.
