Clarification request: no power

I have a gateway nv series laptop. after the battery went dead I recharged it, have a blue light indicating that, but I cannot get the computer to restart. I tried removing the battery holding the power button for 30 sec's and still nothing
any other ideas. Its about 18 months old, is it possible the battery is no good.

I can't guess why that model is noted so often here. It's either there is an issue or there is the same person posting again and again hoping for new ideas.

But at 18 months the battery can be dead. Rare but has been seen with one user that used the battery power every day then charged at night. It's only a 300 cycle battery.

I had the laptop checked and it is burned out probably due to overheating

failed during the night.

Bring it to a licensed technician to test my theory. Then make that person replace the PSU with a much better one(400+watt one).
