Hello all,
I have the Acer Aspire mentioned above and yesterday when I went to turn it on nothing happened. I thought I might've left it unplugged too long and the battery was dead so I left the house to let it charge. I come home today and try to turn it on and it takes forever to do anything, flickers some screens, and then gave me a black screen with "Windows Loading Files" across the bottom. All this while it is beeping, in rhythm, and super high pitched. I finally did some research on my iPhone and hit F8 to get to the Options screen and did the Last Known Configuration option and it started just fine. Used it all day with no problem. Then I turned it off without even thinking about it. I had the "oh no" moment and tried to turn it back on, Same thing happened as earlier, with the beeping and the loading files screen. I forced shut down, turned it on again, and repeated the F8 process from earlier, and did the Last Known Configuration thing again, but this time my computer went on the fritz! It seemed like my mouse pad was clicking things I wasn't telling it to. Windows just kept opening and opening. So I forced shut down again, F8 again, and hit System Restore, and then those windows kept freaking out, too! At one time I had windows keep opening, one would say it was running System Restore while another said System Restore failed while another had the error message "The instruction at 0x0040ae90 referenced memory at 0x00000004. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program." But it wouldn't let me control any of my clicking. I shut down and F8ed again and now I'm in safe mode with networking and everything seems okay, but now I don't know what to do. Help me! All the research for my finals is on here! SOS
