Computer help forum: Xp install Adaptec for Aspi files

2 both programs converted Files to format for writing to DVD disk.This was done. Disks were ejected. 3,On replaying in Power DVD both disks displayed error 800 0427 DVD video playback graph building failed 4, checked many sites to solve problem No good. Have done System restore.No good 5, Believe problem may be corrupted Aspi file 6, CNET Downloaded Adapted program for Adaptec fies (Cannot remember Title). It was Downloaded but before installing CNet Webrot did a check on my computer Six faults found and removed. 7, could not find download for Installation. Extensive search of PC failed to find it. Tried to find it again in CNET failed
Tried several other of my DVD copies same story. HELP KInd Regards Graham Norris

"Clone" and "copy" doesn't sound like "converted files to format". So it's quite unclear what you and what's on that disk that Power DVD gives that error on. Let alone on those other disks.

To copy a DVD I use the copy DVD option in Nero (a program that came with my burner). And I'm sure to use the Verify option so the program checks that the copy can be read and is identical to the source.
IMGBURN (free) can make an image of a DVD, burn that image to a DVD and verify it as a separate step.

So I never used CloneDVD2 or Ideal DVD copy or Adaptec, and I don't even know what a Aspi file is or why you think it's corrupted.

Sorry, I realize this isn't very effective help. Just try again using other tools than you did now and be sure to verify the copy.

Thanks for your advice on burning in Nero. Followed as you indicated but could not find how to verify before Burning .The disk was burnt and said was succesful. Burner used this time was Neros Image burner.
Still getting the DVD Video playback graph builder failed..
I am very greatful for your help and time given.It is much appreciated.
I am now the proud owner of 6 U/S DVD disks all from different Programs and burner combinations.
Think I'll give it a miss and later when I Reformat my Hard drive re install my Program files.which I have done several times. Fuil Scan carried out yesterday evening before shut down.

G'day R Proffitta few facts about me, Graham, am 78 years, memory Lapses at times but later recalled.
I have 2 Tower Pc's at present and Have Re-Formatted them on several occassions. Installed TV cards.
Now the Crux of my Problem. At Present.I have tried to copy a Video file which I have had for a long time, This I have done on several occasions.using Clone DVD2 , Ideal DVD copy and Nero .I have used these programs several times over the years with no problems till now. Tried different Video files
In my searchs over the Net re Error 8004027 One was that an ASPI file could be the Problem. Serching my PC extensively could not find any Aspi files. Another mentioned Adaptec as a possible aid
See below to other Gentleman who has given his time to assist me. Thanks for your time and assistance I think you will appreciate my despair with this Problem.
I can Play DVD movies. No Problem
PS there are several Packages purporting to Solve this one of many problems I Have in my PCs which for all other purposes are still Functional.
My only income is my pension.I am housebound. The cheapest net service in Westnet.com.au. I do not Smoke or Drink as I used to do. Still not Financial for Luxury items of which Packages are.
This is NOT a begging letter, I am just Stating cold hard facts as is

It's an unclear one but the failure almost sounds like what happens as the drive gets a little older. Read errors increase and then it fails.

Sorry but it appears my reply didn't help to jostle loose the idea that we sometimes need to back up and take a look at what we are trying to do.

For example, if my DVD plays fine, then I watch it and I'm done. You could help others help you by explaining what you need to do. Maybe there is another way to solve the problem. NO, I am not talking about the application issue that appears to be dead and without support. I'm writing about what it is you are trying to do.

G'day Bob. Only real Problem. I cannot get Graph builder to work. So will continue with my Play centre, Information,education,and many other Programsof of which Outlook express,Skype and Google talk are a must be for me
I intend to reformat in the near future and will never Use Automatic Windows Update installer as problem is in both my computers and only Occured recently. Friend suggests that some of those could have caused by some of these Updates causing a problem in my PC settings. Only a thought.but could be a probability.

The only issue I ever encounter is when I press on and accept a DRIVER. The rest have never been an issue at home, office or elsewhere with a fine exception of machines that got hit with malware or registry cleaners.

Thanks Bob. Your advice has been much appreciate abd given a clearer insight to my Computer.
I'm Calling it a Day. I have seen so many with problems that I have and require solutions. None appear to have had their problems solved either.
at 78 I think I am a slow learner. Not a Nerd or Geek but just an average lover of computers and the world they make available.
