Links not working?

My Packard Bell Easynote has windows 7 installed. I run it wirelessly via a BT total broadband router.

About 4 days ago I clicked on a link in an email and all that happened was that a new tab appeared but did not connect with the website. I tried other emails with links in them and the result was the same. This is in Yahoo Mail. My husband tried the same with this hotmail account and the same thing occurred. We can navigate around the mail accounts ok.

Also, the same problem showed up whilst on some (but not all) websites (DIY.com, Broadband speed tester and Homebase to name a few).

Any ideas?

Try the instructions in the link below.. Usually, re-registering the .dll's mentioned gets the job done.

Tried and found some failures

Followed all instructions, thanks.

The following files "failed to load":
initpki.dll
gpkcsp.dll
sccbase.dll
slbcsp.dll

I'm sure you know what to suggest now?!

Did You Also Run SFC /SCANNOW?

The failures on the dll's mentioned isn't uncommon.. Did SFC find any issues and after re-registering the files available, are the links working as expected?

Yes, I ran SFC/SCANNOW as shown in the link you sent and all was fine - no issues.

Unfortunately, the link problem is still the same .
