You should try System Restore to when it worked.

Remember that with no make, model, story and more, we have to go with the simple answers. Even the old "reinstall the OS!"

system restore is not an option

System restore is not an option for me since I don't have it enabled.

I have the issue in more than one pc but they are all windows 7. 2 of the models are Acer L460 and L480.

I am not sure what exactly made it happen. One day it was fine, the next it was not. The only thing I can think of is a windows update that caused it. even though the same update was applied to all my pcs, not all of them have this issue

Given only this much detail I have to fall back to reinstall the OS, then turn on System Restore so that little issues like this don't cost so much.

I remembered an old Norton issue like this. The network stuff fails when the date is too far off.

But before we call it quits, tell all the story and scan like Grif notes at link.
