Toshiba Satelitte - Win Vista Home Premium

Model L305D-S5900

Hey guys - I am halfway intelligent (or thought so) when it comes to laptops and correcting problems.


However, this one has me stumped. Out of the blue, I power up and get a BLACK screen (thank God not the BLUE one).
I am allowed to select sign on Normal method, Etc.


Few seconds later, I am given the opportunity to log on to Vista. I type my password, get the Welcome screen. THEN, i get stuck on a Blue/Purple Screen (Sorry, I'm color blind).


Before today, I would get the screen to open last configuration, and those types of messages.


Any advice? I have taken the battery out. Cleaned the entire PC with Air. Just stuck now - and this is my kids laptop for homework.


I desperately appreciate any feedback that may save me! Oh, it's my wife's laptop also!
