Hi guys. I'm hoping some of you can help.
Due to financial issues
I've had my cable services dropped. No cable tv, no outside calls, no
internet but my computer picks up a wireless network. I can't afford to
settle the bill right away and having no cable really makes my job
search extra difficult. I rent a studio in a house. My landlord and I
have the same cable service but separate accounts. I was able to pick up
and use their wireless internet w/o being plugged in to the cable
modem. Now I can't log on to the internet at all - when I enter a
website it says 'Optimum Online can't connect to the internet' - but my
home screen shows that I still have access to the wireless internet. Is
there a way to bypass the block from the cable company and just connect
straight to my landlords wireless internet? What about buying a
wireless card? do I have to uninstall something in my computer? the
cable company shut off my internet somehow w/o interfering with my
landlords - I'm on their computer now.
Please help. I just want to be
able to do my job search w/o constantly having to harass my landlords.
Thanks.
