secondary hd not showing

my second hd is not showing, either in windows explorer or admin tools\comp manage\disk management. it's just not showing anywhere. i can feel the disk spinning and it is warm. connections are fine,,,i tried switching the data cable.

any help please? i don't go into the 2nd hd often, so i cannot say when this started.

Sounds like the drive up and died on you. If there's any kind of manufacturer's warranty on it, make use of it now, otherwise just replace it. If the replacement drive does the same thing, you have a bad connector on the motherboard, or less likely, a DOA drive.

Find who makes the HD in question. Goto their support website and get their diags. for such model#. Run the diags in a non-destructive data mode and see what the results are. This is more than likely needs to be done if warranty comes into play. You gave few details as well. If this is an old HD, you got your $ worth. If fairly new, consider "heat stress" as a possible cause and try to better cool the PC when the replacement comes.
