Computer freezes meaning completely locks up. Keyboard mouse and monitor unresponsive. Sound works for a few seconds after the lock up and then shuts off. I have to do a hard reboot. Recently it has gotten more frequent such as every half hour to an hour. I am thinking its a component error like maybe the PSU graphics card motherboard or something like that.

4 GB ADATA 1600Hz Gaming RAM
700W Xion PSU not sure how many 12v rails

Why not take this up with the maker?
The symptom sounds like driver issues but the maker should give you an install plan.

The warranty ended in february i called them a few times about the issue they tried to walk me through some things but i could not understand the customer service. So they told me to send it in for matinance and i never got the chance. It is custom built from ibuypower.com
Go over the drivers again.

Well it started about 2 weeks after the computer arrived. So i tried reinstalling windows 7 completely. The problem reocurred a few weeks later or so i cant really remember. All of my drivers are up to date and windows 7 is up to date with SP 1. When i first got it the freezes were less than once a day. Now they have progressed to every half hour to an hour.
Now you have a real problem.

It was failing at 2 weeks and I didn't see that detail. It could be as simple as you replacing the CPU heat sink compound or as loopy as finding a missing heat sink that should have been on some chip on some board.
Sorry but the clues are not here to suggest much. I'd start asking for a full refund.
